Mosi
Mosi (Mosi frá Kálfhóli 2)
Mosi moved to Tashunka straight from the land of Ice and Fire in the winter of 2022. He, and his traveling partner Thyra, spent almost 2 months in isolation for their own protection. In Iceland there are no contagious horse diseases so when they move here we needed to get their immune systems boosted so our current would be less likely to get them sick. They have been slowly introduced to the Tashunka program and will hopefully become a major part of the Lesson program.

The Icelandic Horse
Some say the Icelandic horse has been genetically isolated for 1000 years. In that time the Icelandic shorelines have been closed to horses being imported into the country. That has helped to create an environment free of contagious horse diseases. As Iceland has developed as a country the horse has been a critical part of its success. For more information on the Icelandic Horse, check out the Horses of Iceland website.
