Dream Big

On the drive back from our 2017 Mustang Safari our group was reminiscing about what a wonderful trip we had, how amazing was to see horses still in the wild, and how alarming it is to hear about the difficulties that mustangs now face.  That was a pretty normal discussion for one of our trips, but this group was different!  The discussion led to a small group of people coming together to see what could be done to help wild horses.  The group came up with a proposal to the United States National Forest Service for an education and placement program for wild horses.  They also started the process of securing a piece of property that could be used for a Mustang Sanctuary, as well as finding investors and donors to make it happen.  In 2019 an offer was made to purchase a piece of property in Oregon that was over 10,000 acres, but sadly the seller changed their mind at the last minute.

Keeping the Dream Alive

We are still keeping an eye out for a large property in Eastern Washington, Eastern Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Utah, or Wyoming.  The ideal land would be a minimum of 1000 acres, able to support a herd of at least 200 wild horses, have reasonable year round access, already have the presence of catch pens and sorting chutes, and have fencing in good condition.  We could make do with a smaller property, but it would than need at least one residence and other revenue potential.

To make this dream a reality we are always open to talking with new investors and possible donors.  Feel free to reach out if you are interested!
